Omani traditional clothing and dress
The aim of Muscat Fashion Week is to celebrate Arabian Fashion Design, and the febuary 2011 show in Riyam park showcased the works of Saudi Jalabiyia designer Amina al-Jasim, Omani design duo of the celebrated brand Dar Dibaj,Omani traditional dress designers (btw, please correct me if I credit the wrong designer for an outfit) Nawal Al-HootiAnisa Al Zadjali, & Hana Al Wahaibi, Lebanese designer Fadi Nahle, abayas by Omani designers Anisa Al Zadjali Nadra Al Ajmi, and Khadija al Lamki,...the Afghan label Zarif design, some Morrocan caftans/takchitas by a designer whose name I forget, and the evening gown collection of Lebanese designer Robert Abi Nader. I focussed on the GCC fashion more than the other Arabic designers works, so abayas, jalabiyias, and Omani outfits because pics of the others are easy to find on the net. I'll try to find some more photos to add to this post when i have some time but uploading pics to blogger takes a while.
