My Own Photos: The Fountain Along Mutrah Corniche

My camera really can't do the fountain justice. One of my number one recommended things to do in Oman is stroll up along the Mutrah Corniche to the fountain at night, the fountain not the be-all-end-all. There's of course the souq. But past that, see the dhows (and the Sultan's yacht), the lights of Mutrah Fort and Jalaani way away. Buy peanuts or a hayaak card from the guys peddling them here (if you LIKE peanuts and like being bothered about phone credit cards). See if you can spot dolphins or sea turtles on the night of a full moon swimming (I have seen both). Find yourself overwhelmed by the mystical feel of Mutrah. Right across from here and up is Riyam park. When the narcissus flower is in bloom, why not park there, and head down to here. The Narcissus trees in Riyam are some of the most impressive I've seen on non-private grounds in Oman. Do the Corniche by way of the fountains. It is part of the Muscat experience. I promise you'll never forget the scent of Narcissus and the swimming lights.
