OMANI SAYINGS/PROVERBS: Don't climb too high up your coconut tree

Hehehehe I love this one. It has two meanings and is a proverb from Zanzibar originally. I used to get old this all the time as a child by a funny Omani man from PDO. It goes like this "Don't climb to high up your coconut tree or you will fall" which means those people who try to give themselves airs and make out they are more important then they are and then they will get all publically shown up when what they said turns out to be a load of bull. Or it goes like this "Don't climb too high up the coconut tree... or every coconut will be green to you." Which means, kind of American-quivelent of "keeping up with the Jone's". It means that no matter what you have, no matter how you climb in society or in material means, what you have will never be enough for you because there is always some better view from up top of someone who has more, so better to be happy with what is right in front of you and live your life:). That's why I love this one, plus it reminds me of that crazy old man.
