One of the places we did stop was for a little sunday market in Kinvarra, Co. Galway. We bought homemade jam, Irish honey, and visited the studio of Irish artist, Michael Hanrahan, where we had a chat with his daughter about the Irish national sport of hurling (very similiar to an Omani traditional game played with palm fronds).
In Kinvara we stopped at a farmer's market, and my husband met a couple who had lived in Oman (they were selling the pecan cake pictured above). They recognized us by the dishdasha of course;).
